gmail-search ยท effective 7 November 2026
What the app is
gmail-search is a personal tool that runs only on its owner's own computer. It lets the owner search and read their own Gmail accounts. It is not offered to the public.
Data the app accesses
With the account holder's permission, the app uses the read-only Gmail scope
(https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly) to search messages and read their headers, text and
attachment names. It cannot send, delete, label or change email.
How the data is used
Email data is used only to answer the account holder's own search and reading requests on their own computer. The results are shown to the AI assistant the owner uses in that session (Claude by Anthropic) only when the owner asks it to search or read mail. The data is not used for advertising, profiling or training models.
Storage and sharing
Access tokens are stored only on the owner's computer. Email content is not stored by the app and is not sent to the developer or to any server operated by the developer. The data is never sold or shared with anyone else.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections. Deleting the app's local token files removes all stored access from the computer.
